Its been a week since I moved back into the city, this time as a sophomore. Its weird to watch the freshmen move in and get adjusted to a new city, new friends, and a new room. I can't believe it was a year ago that I was doing the exact same thing.
Besides being a year older, not much seems to have changed over the summer. There are some new RAs (Residential Assistants), new activities planned, and many new faces in Somerset (miller hall), but thats about it.
One of the first nights we had a tie dye party in the lobby of 10 Somerset and most residents attended. Yesterday Jason Mraz tickets went on sale for only 10 dollars and im super excited for the concert!! We also have some other cool events planned, like Blue Man Group, Cirque Du Soleil, and a comedian coming to Suffolk, all through October.
First semester so far has been great. I am taking Intro to Media, Journalism 1, The art of Rhetoric, Protest, and Reform, and Computer Programing. So far so good. Media seems really interesting; our first class we watched the simpsons and discussed the media's portrayal throughout the episode. My Journalism professor works for the Boston Globe, which is pretty awesome to have a professor so connected to what he teaches. In computers we started creating out own website with HTML, which seems like it will start to get pretty complicated, but hopefully not too difficult. I am still not sure what to expect out of the Rhetoric class; so far we have just talked about slavery, but then again I have only had one class.
Now its just about getting back into the swing of things, and trying to get work done while living on a floor with all of my friends, where it is neverrr quiet. Might have to head over to the library one of these days...
So that's what up this week, more to come later. :)
